Michelle Medina, MSTCM, L.Ac.
Michelle Medina joined The Wellness Principle, Oakland in May 2019 bringing over seven years of clinical experience in the field of traditional Chinese medicine. Her background as a social worker and massage therapist created an optimal foundation toward a profession in holistic healing. Her educational pursuits include a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UC Santa Cruz, followed by a master of science in acupuncture and Oriental medicine (MSOM) from AIMC Berkeley.
As a California state licensed acupuncturist, she has been actively practicing Chinese medicine in integrative clinical settings with particular focus on acute and chronic pain management, fertility and pre-post natal care, and constitutional facial rejuvenation. Her techniques are intuitive, skilled and able to navigate complex health conditions using a variety of modalities, like moxibustion and cupping therapy, as well as fine needling approaches through Tan Balance Method and the very spirit-focused treatment of facial rejuvenation acupuncture. Patient care is enhanced by the subtle, yet powerful practice of medical Qigong that engages movement through the meridians and promotes the innate healing energy of the body.
Michelle is dedicated to holistic wellness through patient-centered care, and continues to participate in her community by volunteering at various art-centered nonprofits in the Bay Area. Through the framework of acupuncture and Chinese medicine she is committed to helping individuals reach their health goals.
Outside the clinic Michelle is gardening, climbing with friends, enjoying home-cooked, shared meals and exploring San Francisco for amazing new views and delicious eats.
Michelle believes that when people feel balanced and well, they can be their most expansive and best selves. This philosophy is a shared passion at TWP, where we celebrate the concept of everyday wellness.
